Happy Home Remodel in Frisco, Texas
So you relocate and find your home – now it’s time to make it your own. That was certainly the case for this former iHeart Radio executive’s family when they decided to resettle their roots in Dallas, Texas. Their desire was to have key areas of the home upgraded, which included comprehensive services from the Star Companies, including Starpower, Ed Kellum & Son, StarFloors and Star Interior Resources. For our clients, it was an exciting opportunity to see their home transformed. And for the design, install, and programming team at Starpower, a chance to show the family all that we as a company are capable of. As the most elite electronics team in the industry, Starpower has completed hundreds of builds of every size. But this is one of our favorites because it allowed all of the Star Companies to shine, and show that when we work together, we are stronger than the sum of our parts.
The Solution

StarFloors is one of the largest floor covering companies in the United States. Star Interior Resources is an affiliated construction resource that delivers outstanding physical remodeling. And for the perfect touches to any room, Starpower has been designing and manufacturing luxurious custom leather furniture since 2002. When our customers approached Starpower about a complete renovation, CEO David Pidgeon knew his company was perfect for the job.
“We always tell our customers, ‘If you can dream it, we can build it,’” Pidgeon said. “There are a lot of companies who say things like that, but very few that can actually deliver it on all fronts. When it came to helping the Schurr family with their Happy Home Remodel, we knew that we had all the right ingredients to bring their dreams to life. Starpower completely renovated the kitchen with all new state-of-the-art appliances. The team built a stunning new media room, added new flooring, and completely renovated the backyard to create an outdoor living space for the entire family. “With the greatest intention possible, we’ve built a team with experts in every field. Other companies that do some of what we do are often full of salespeople just looking to score a big sale. Our people are problem solvers. They’re facilitators. Starpower project leaders like Scott Harwell and Chris Vaughn are some of the very best in the world at what they do. Leo Palacios who heads up our installations is equal parts engineer and artist. His installs are beautiful,” said Pidgeon.

OUR APPROACH
When we say, “if you can dream it, we can build it,” our partners are the palette that makes that promise possible. For this space, we got to tap into all areas of expertise, including floorings, cabinetry, construction modifications and more.
This Home Features:

- New Carpet in living spaces
- Convert master bedroom from carpet to hardwood floor.
- Build backyard patio (cement slab, tile) with pergola and lighting/electrical (fan, lights, electrical service)
- Upgrade of media room with new projector and leather seating (including paint and carper included in above)
- New Sony 85” 4K TV in family room (“Beth’s TV”).
- Tile front porch, matching back patio.
- Remodel kitchen and utility room.
- Expand kitchen by 400 sq/ft.
- Expand utility room by 200 sq/ft.
- Completely new layout.
- Full suite of SZ/W appliances.
- New cabinets, lighting (in-cabinet, above cabinet, regular), fixtures, plumbing and accessories (sinks, faucets, garbage disposal)
- Full repaint and backsplash tile w all new materials and colors.
